Lynne Ganek

The Mentor

[Business Consultant]

Lynne Ganek, once headwriter of a media literacy project for WNET/Thirteen, pioneered the use of media, especially television and video, into U.S. classrooms across the country.

Gaining the notice of Lancit Media, Ganek was chosen to help create a pilot for a new PBS series. The pilot happened to be the multi Emmy Award winning PBS series, READING RAINBOW with Levar Burton; Ganek became the series’ original Associate Producer.

Ganek went on to become an independent consultant with clients such as CBS, A&E, Discovery Communications,Inc., CBS/Fox Home Video. Twentieth Century Fox TV, Lorimar, Scholastic Books, Shanghai TV, and Pearson/PrenticeHall.

Today, Ganek lives with her husband Jeffrey in the DC area, and has two wonderful children. She is on the Clinical Faculty at American University, supervises graduate and undergraduate student-teachers, and helps manage the Ganek Family/American University Student-Teacher Mini-Grant Project for Innovation in Education. Lynne has been elected to or invited to serve on the boards of The National Education Association, WDCA-TV, Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship College of Business and Management at the University of Maryland, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, Daytime Emmy Awards, and Action For Children’s Televison.

Lynne quickly became part of the JTwo family and has acted as a constant guide and mentor during JTwo’s incubation process, helping to steer this creative juggernaut into clear waters as we have grown.
